Vicky Loranger, Registered Social Worker (MSW)

MY PASSION

My passion for psychotherapy came after practicing law for many years and working with clients experiencing separation and divorce. As my family law work provided me with the opportunity to connect with mental health professionals, I recognized that assisting people during difficult times resonated with me professionally and immediately appreciated the significance of offering a supportive and safe space for those needing it the most.

.That realization led me on my path of completing a Master’s degree in Social Work. The combination of these professional experiences enables me to approach therapy from a unique stance of non-judgment, understanding, and optimism.

Whether it is processing difficult topics, navigating through changes, or encountering possible life barriers, I strive to create a safe and exploratory space that encourages growth, empowerment, and emotional well-being.

WHO I WORK WITH

I have extensive experience assisting clients with relationship issues, depression and anxiety, parenting concerns, family challenges and life transitions. I help individuals navigate high-conflict separation and divorce, co-parenting, healthy divorce recovery and blended families. I truly understand how stressful these times can be.

Promoting communication and coping skills and supporting clients to address challenges, reduce conflict and distress associated with these difficult transitions and life experiences are at the core of my practice.

I also enjoy helping individuals with anxiety, performance pressure, perfectionism, and self-esteem as well as academic and career issues. Moreover, I have a keen interest and experience in supporting parents with their children’s learning disabilities and associated realities.

The client-therapist relationship that develops through counselling is an important agent for change, and I feel very fortunate to help people through some of the most challenging times in their lives. My client-centered approach is grounded in Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), Narrative, and Solution-Focused therapies.

Let’s take that first step together, I’d like to help you!
